Gradings

At Escape Jiu Jitsu, we run two gradings per year, for both our kids and adults teams. These are completely free, and the dates will be announced at least a month in advance. Gradings will be held in the GI, and students will be graded based on their own individual skills, progress and contribution to their team.

It’s important to understand, the Jiu Jitsu belt system is sacred; you can’t just pay your membership and expect to earn stripes or belts. We expect our students to show not only their skills, but discipline, respect and support for their fellow teammates. After all, this is a martial art; our students' goal should be to become a true martial artist and embody everything that represents.
